Playground Safety Inspections Across Canada

Why Regular Playground Inspections Matter

Playgrounds are high-use environments, and small issues can quickly turn into safety concerns if they go unnoticed. Regular safety inspections help identify hazards early, reduce the risk of injuries, and support compliance with current safety standards. For schools, daycares, and municipalities, inspections are also an important part of managing liability and demonstrating due diligence.

Qualified, Independent Inspections

All inspections are carried out by a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) with hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining playgrounds. Inspections follow CSA Z614 requirements, with reference to ASTM standardswhere applicable. Reports are practical, clearly written, and focused on real-world safety and maintenance priorities — not generic checklists.

Surface Impact Testing (Optional)

Impact attenuation testing measures how well playground surfacing performs under fall conditions. This testing can help confirm compliance with safety standards, support insurance or audit requirements, and identify areas where surfacing depth or condition may need attention. Surface testing is commonly requested for higher-risk play areas or older playgrounds.
